Professional biography
Martin George is the Senior Partner and Lead Counsel of Martin George & Company, which he founded in 1992. Over more than thirty years of legal practice in the courts of Trinidad and Tobago, he has built up a deep reservoir of knowledge, insight, and experience that spans every area in which the firm practises.
He brings a calm, reasoned, measured — yet results-driven — approach to every matter that comes through the firm. His focus is always on what’s the best solution for the client, achieved in the most cost-effective manner possible.
Martin has a particular passion for medical negligence work, and was one of the founding members of the Caribbean Association of Forensic Scientists. He has served as a Commissioner on the Law Reform Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, sat on the Prime Minister’s Constitutional Committee for Internal Self-Government for Tobago, and founded and chaired Crimestoppers Trinidad and Tobago. He is also someone the media has called upon repeatedly for legal insights on a wide range of topics in the Trinidad and Tobago legal landscape.
